Jensen Talks About Harnessing Fandom Power

Like his colleagues before him, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, Jensen is finally on board with using Fandom Power For Good.

Talking to Variety, he says there were many causes he’d like to help, but none he was over-the-top passionate about, so joining his buddy Jared in the “Always Keep Fighting” campaign was like “testing the waters”. With such a great response, it inspired them to make sure that any money raised  would continue for years to come.

“Instead of just for one particular cause or one particular charity, let’s see if we can’t raise money and then throughout the year get involved with multiple charities and multiple funds.”

While the fund that the boys have set up, is in its infancy, they are well on their way to rivalling established foundations like the Ian Somerhalder Foundation or Random Acts. They have plans to build a website to let the fan base know what causes they are getting behind and where all the donations are going.

Jensen says that they hope to join forces with others, such as Random Acts, in order to take the power and the energy of their fan-base and spread it around.

“We thought that it would just be foolish not to at least harness this and start using this for as much good as we can.”

Exactly! Something Fandom4Good has been promoting, since it’s inception. I also get the feeling he won’t be the last Supernatural family member to go down this road.

    1. Hey hon… so sorry to hear this… While we at Fandom4Good don’t do any of the drives, we just promote them, I suggest that you hit up either Jared or Jensen or maybe even Stephen Amell on their Facebook page. J2 are going to be doing a lot of good over the next 12 months, so maybe they could help…

      Good luck and bless you.
      Kathleen.

  2. Oh I hope they don’t associate themselves with Random Acts. :/ That would be a mistake, I fear, as the stories coming out about them portrays them as a very shady “charity”.

    1. Hi Marsha… I am not sure what “stories” you are talking about. Could you tell me, where did you hear them? Random Acts is run by Misha Collins (Castial) and I believe him to be a man of integrity.

Thanks for your interest and feedback.
      Kathleen.

  3. Hiya, Im really glad I have found this information. Nowadays bloggers publish only about gossip and internet stuff and this is actually frustrating. A good blog with interesting content, this is what I need. Thank you for making this web site, and I will be visiting again. Do you do newsletters by email?
